Shri R.N. Singhassumed charge as the General Manager of Southern Railway on 7thNovember 2022.An officer of IRSE cadre (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) of 1986 batch, Shri R.N. Singh has served Indian Railways and PSUs in important executive and management positions such as Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division, Managing Director/DFCCIL (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited),.Prior to taking over as General Manager, Southern Railway, Shri R.N. Singh held the post of Principal Executive Director/ Infrastructure, Ministry of Railways and Secretary/Railway Board.
Shri R.N. Singh has rich experience in planning and execution of mega-infrastructure projects such as Dedicated Freight Corridors, Major Bridges, High Speed Railway etc. and has wide exposure in various aspects of Railway management during his career spanning more than 34 years.His areas of specialisation include Project Management, Railway Operations, PPP and Strategic Management.He is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and has undergone multiple trainings such as Disaster Management from Holland, Advanced Management from Singapore/Malayasia, Strategic Management from Paris and ISB, Mechanised Maintenance from Austria and Executive Management from University of Bocconni, Italy.

Shri Vipin Kumar
Shri Vipin Kumar, IRSE (1988 batch) has assumed charge as Additional General Manager (AGM) of Southern Railway on, 13th October, 2025.
Shri Vipin Kumar joined the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) in 1988. Over his long and distinguished career, he has held various technical and managerial assignments across zones including South Central Railway, Northern Railway, South Western Railway, South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway and North Central Railway. He has led large-scale infrastructure projects across railways, metros, highways, and tunnels, demonstrating competence across multi-disciplinary domains.
Shri Vipin Kumar held the post of Chief Administrative Officer/Construction of North Central Railway before assuming the charges of AGM, Southern Railway. Earlier, he held the post of Senior Deputy General Manager (SDGM) in Eastern Railway and Principal Chief Engineer of Rail Wheel Factory, Bengaluru.
Having graduated from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, Shri Vipin Kumar pursued post-graduation in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
