EMU Workshop, Avadi:
Workshop, Avadi was established in the year 1979. Madras suburban sections were electrified and BG AC EMU services introduced in Madras - Gummidipundi and Madras - Avadi Sections in the year 1979. Consequent services were extended up to Arakkonam, Sullurupetta, Tambaram, Chengalpattu,Villupuram, Kanchipuram, Nellore, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem and Tirupathi
- An ISO-9001 Workshop: EMU workshop, Avadi has been certified with ISO 9001-2000 by BIS on 25th October 2003 and Inspection activities have also been included in the ISO Quality Management System.
