Traction distribution (TRD) branch is responsible for the maintenance of 25kV AC electric traction installation assets.
The branch can be broadly classified into
- Over Head Equipment (OHE)
- Power Supply Installations (PSI)
- Remote Control (RC)
The depots in Chennai Division are located at following locations.
OHE depots: OHE/MS, OHE/TBM, OHE/CGL, OHE/ACK, OHE/VM, OHE/AVD, OHE/TRL, OHE/AJJ, OHE/PUT, OHE/BBQ, OHE/TVT, OHE/PON, OHE/SPE, OHE/GDR, OHE/AB, OHE/WJR, OHE,KPD & OHE/JTJ (Total 18 depots)
PSI depots: PSI/MCPT, PSI/TBM, PSI/ACK,PSI/VM, PSI/AVD, PSI/AJJ, PSI,PUT, PSI/BBQ, PSI/ENR, PSI/SPE, PSI/THL, PSI/VLT & PSI/TPT (Total 13 depots: 11 Traction Substations with Depots and 2 Sub-Depots at BBQ and VM)
RC Depot: RC/MAS (Single depot for entire MAS Division)
