Hon’ble MoS of Railways holds high level review meeting with Southern Railway officials

Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Railways & Textiles visited Southern Railway today (2nd March 2022) and held a high level review meeting with Shri A.K.Agarwal, General Manager, Southern Railway & ICF.  Shri B.G.Mallya, Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments and other Senior Officials of the Zone participated in the meeting.

Shri A.K.Agarwal, General Manager briefed the Minister about the status of various infrastructural, Safety and passenger amenity works.   The Minister elaborately discussed about the o­ngoing capacity augmentation and suggested proactive measures to improve passenger amenities at railway stations over Southern Railway’s jurisdiction.  The Minister also reviewed the progress of installation of CCTV cameras under Nirbhaya Scheme and Video Surveillance System (VSS) at railway stations. Smt. Darshana Jardosh also suggested the Zone should explore the avenues of rail transportation of textile products from major textile cities.

A power point presentation was made appraising the Minister o­n the performance of Southern Railway in the current financial year. 

Earlier in the morning, Hon’ble Minister visited the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and flagged off DEMU coaches manufactured for Sri Lanka at the workshop.
