Indian Railways cross milestone of 20000 MT of LMO delivery Southern Railway delivers more than 2000 MT of Oxygen for the State of Tamil Nadu and Kerala


Southern Railway delivered 2114.21 MT of LMO through 32 Oxygen Express trains for the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Two more loaded Oxygen Express rakes for Tamil Nadu arrived today (29-5-2021).  The twenty-eighth loaded Oxygen Express from Rourkela with 4 containers carrying 85.83 MT arrived at Inland Container Depot, Tondiarpet at 7.42 hours today (29-5-2021).  The twenty-ninth loaded Oxygen Express with 2 tankers carrying 31.02 MT, also dispatched from Rourkela, arrived at Kudalnagar (Madurai) at 8.15 hours today (29-5-2021).

With this, 29 loaded Oxygen Express trains have delivered 1734.01 MT of LMO to Tamil Nadu.

As of date, Inland Container Depot, Tondiarpet handled 20 loaded Oxygen Express rakes carrying 1278.78 MT of LMO. o­ne rake each was delivered to Tondiarpet Goods Yard (30.5 MT) and Tiruvallur (31.4 MT).  o­ne Oxygen Express each was delivered to Milavattan (78.82 MT), Vadipatti (79.31 MT) .   Kudalnagar received two rakes with 97.14 MT while Madukkarai near Coimbatore received three Oxygen Express rakes carrying a total of 138.06 MT of LMO.

As for further Oxygen Express trains, Oxygen is being refilled and loaded rake will be dispatched tonight.

Oxygen Express for Kerala

So far, three oxygen Express trains delivered 380.2 MT of Oxygen to Kerala.  All the three rakes were offloaded at Vallarpadam Container Terminal, Kochi.   The third Oxygen Express loaded at Rourkela (Odisha) for Vallarpadam Container Terminal arrived at the destination o­n 27- 5-2021.

Indian Railways has delivered more than 20770 MT of LMO in more than 1237 tankers to various states across the country.  305 Oxygen Expresses have completed their journey so far and brought relief to various States. 

614 MT of Oxygen has been offloaded in Maharashtra, nearly 3731 MT in Uttar Pradesh, 656 MT in Madhya Pradesh, 5327 MT in Delhi, 1967 MT in Haryana, 98 MT in Rajasthan, 1994 MT in Karnataka, 320 MT in Uttarakhand, 1734.01 MT in Tamil Nadu, 1668 MT in Andhra Pradesh, 225 MT in Punjab, 380.2 MT in Kerala, 1770 MT in Telangana, 38 MT in Jharkhand and 240 MT in Assam.

Running o­n high priority Green Corridor, with a highest sense of urgency, Railways is creating new standards and unprecedented benchmarks in running of Oxygen Express Freight Trains. The average speed of these critical Freight trains is way above 55 in most cases over long distances. Running of new Oxygen is a very dynamic exercise and figures keep getting updated all the time.
