Southern Railway permits lady passengers to travel in Chennai Suburban without any time restrictions from 14th December 2020 (Monday)
Circular Suburban Services to resume in Chengalpattu – Kanchipuram- Arakkonam sector from 14th December 2020 (Monday)
Southern Railway will permit all lady passengers to travel in Chennai Suburban trains without any time restrictions on all the days of the week, effective from 14th December 2020 (Monday). Similarly Children, up to the age of 12 years, accompanying lady passengers would also be permitted to travel. This move would benefit all lady passengers as they would be able to travel in the Chennai suburban services throughout the day. With this, travel of lady passengers restricting to only non-peak hours stands withdrawn now in Chennai suburban trains system.
Circular Suburban Services to resume in Chengalpattu – Kanchipuram- Arakkonam sector
Southern Railway will also resume Suburban Services in the section Chennai Beach- Chengalpattu – Kanchipuram/ Tirumalpur from 14th December 2020 (Monday). This will benefit large number of office goers and other commuters travelling from the vicinity of Kanchipuram and Arakkonam.
Southern Railway is expanding the scope of passengers who are allowed to travel in the Chennai Suburban train system in a phased manner.
Southern Railway appeals to all the passengers using suburban train services to follow all the COVID-19 protocols issued from time to time by Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt of India and Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time.
