SOUTHERN RAILWAY OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY



Southern Railway observed International Yoga Day today, the 21st of June, 2019 through various events across the zone. The yoga session organized at Rail Kalayana Mandapam, Egmore witnessed overwhelming response from Officers and staff of Southern Railway Headquarters and Chennai Division. 
 
 "Climate Action" and 'Yoga for Heart' being the themes for this year’s Yoga Day celebrations, a handbook o­n Common Yoga Protocol (Published by Ministry of Ayush) was distributed during the event .Later, basic yogasanas under the auspices of an eminent Yoga instructor were performed by the participants.

All the six divisions of Southern Railway, viz., Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Salem, Palakkad and Tiruvananthapuram also observed International Yoga Day. Officers and staff of the divisions attended Yoga Day events organized at the divisional headquarters and other work places.

Indian Railways observes Yoga Day every year under the guidance of the Ministry of Ayush.
