Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation sponsors Battery-Operated Vehicles for Tambaram Railway Station
SRWHO , the headquarter wing of Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, sponsored two Nos. of Battery-operated Vehicles for operation at Tambaram Railway station. The vehicles cost Rs.3.69 lakh including the cost of operation. SRWHO has been indulging in providing a number of welfare measures for the benefit of Railway employees as well as for rail users.
Smt.Mansi Kulshrestha, President, SRWHO handed over the Battery-operated cars to the Station Manager of Tambaram railway station at a function held in Tambaram railway station premises today, the 12th of December, 2018. Shri.R.K.Kulshrestha, General Manager, Shri.Naveen Gulati, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai and other officers along with members of SRWHO were present. These vehicles will benefit senior citizens, differently-abled, sick passengers and rail users at large.
Passengers can avail the Battery-operated vehicle facility free of cost at Tambaram Railway station. The facility can be accessed by calling the mobile numbers of drivers displayed at Tambaram Railway station or by seeking the assistance of on-duty Station Master/other Railway staff.
Apart from the newly introduced facility at Tambaram railway station, Southern Railway has provided Battery-operated vehicle facility at 17 railway stations over the zone so far.
