Conversion of Conventional Rake in to LHB Coaches


South Western Railway has notified for conversion of following trains from conventional rakes to Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) rakes which aims to enhance passenger safety and comfort with effective from the dates below:

1. Train No. 17311/17312 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express

·Train No.17311 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi Special to run with LHB coaches with effect from 21st June, 2024

·Train No.17312 Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central Weekly Special to run with LHB coaches with effect from 20th June, 2024

2. Train No. 22697/22698 Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi Express:

·Train No. 22697 Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express to run with LHB Coaches with effect from 22nd June, 2024

·Train No. 22698 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi Express to run with LHB Coaches with effect from 23rd June, 2024

Consequent to the conversion of LHB Rakes, the Coach composition will be: 1- First Class cum AC Two Tier Coach, 1- AC Two Tier Coach, 3- AC Three Tier Coaches, 9- Sleeper Class Coaches, 3- General Second Class Coaches, 1- Second Class Coach (Divyangjan Friendly) & 1- Luggage cum Brake Van (LHB Rakes)

Revision in Composition:

ØTrain No. 17311/17312 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express will run with revised composition of 1- First Class cum AC Two Tier Coach, 2- AC Two Tier Coaches, 3- AC Three Tier Coaches, 2- AC Three Tier Economy Coaches, 6- Sleeper Class Coaches, 3- General Second Class Coaches & 1- Luggage cum Brake Van Ex. Dr MGR Chennai Central with effect from 06th September, 2024 and Ex. Hubballi with effect from 05th September, 2024

ØTrain No. 22697/22698 Hubballi – Dr MGR Chennai Central – Hubballi Express will run with revised composition of 1- First Class cum AC Two Tier Coach, 2- AC Two Tier Coaches3- AC Three Tier Coaches, 2- AC Three Tier Economy Coaches, 6- Sleeper Class Coaches3- General Second Class Coaches & 1- Luggage cum Brake Van Ex. Hubballi with effect from 07th September, 2024 and Ex. Dr MGR Chennai Central with effect from 08th September, 2024
