Hon’ble PM to lay the foundation stone for 554 Amrit stations, dedicate/lay the foundation stone for1500 ROBs/RUBs across Indian Railways o­n 26th February 2024

In Southern Railway, 44 Amrit Bharat Stations will have their foundation stones laid, and 193 ROBs/RUBs will have their foundation stones laid or dedicated

Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, will virtually lay the foundation stone for 554 Amrit Bharat Stations and dedicate/lay the foundation stone for 1500 Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges to the nation. This mega event is planned across 2000 locations throughout India.

Ceremonial functions in Southern Railway

In Southern Railway, 44 Amrit Bharat Stations will have their foundation stones laid, and 193 ROBs/ RUBs will have their foundation stones laid or dedicated. As part of this grand event, Southern Railway will organize ceremonial functions at 237 locations/railway stations across the zone o­n February 26, 2024.

Amrit Bharat Stations in SR

On 26th February 2024, Hon'ble PM will lay the foundation stone for 44 railway stations in Southern Railway which include Chennai Beach, Chennai Park, Ambattur, St.Thomas Mount, Guindy, Mambalam, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore North, Erode, Morappur, Dindigul, Tuticorin, Tiruchendur, Mayiladuturai, Kumbakonam, Vriddhachalam, Chengannur, Thrissur, Guruvayur, Ottapalam, Nilambur Road and Kannur, among others.

A total of 75 stations in Tamil Nadu are being taken up under this initiative of “Amrit Bharat Station” at a cost of more than Rs.4100 crores. Of these, Phase -1 works are in progress at 18 stations for which the foundation stone was laid by Hon'ble PM in August 2023. Now, o­n 26th February 2024, Hon'ble PM will lay the foundation stone for 32 Amrit Stations in Tamil Nadu.

A total of 35 stations in Kerala are being taken up under this initiative of “Amrit Bharat Station” at a cost of more than Rs. 3000 crores. Of these, Phase-1 works are in progress at 7 stations for which the foundation stone was laid by Hon'ble PM in August2023. Now, o­n 26th February 2024, Hon'ble PM will lay the foundation stone for 10 Amrit Stations in TamilNadu.

Hon'ble PM will dedicate/lay the foundation stone for 193 ROBs/RUBs in Southern Railway.
