Rameswaram Station Redevelopment
The work of Redevelopment of Rameswaram Railway station was awarded as EPCcontract to M/s Sabari URC JV, Coimbatore at a cost of Rs.90.20 Crores. M/s TUVIndiaPrivateLimited,MumbaihavebeentaskedwiththeworkofProjectManagementservices (PMS)ata cost ofRs.4.41Crore.
Two terminals are proposed to be constructed, one at the East and one at the Northside.TheEastTerminalBuildingisproposedasaG+2structure,withG+6foundation, accommodating world class amenities like waiting longue, ticketing area,commercial area, Railway offices and Roof plaza etc. Segregation of departing andarrival passengers, adequate Lifts and escalators are planned in this building. Theproposed North Terminal building houses prepaid taxi counter, Railway offices andvarioushelplinecentres.SurfaceParkingplannedwithseparatedrivewaytoparking.
