Join hands with Railways and participate in the mass Cleanliness Campaign ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ on 1st October 2023 Volunteer for Shramdaan and contribute to bringing a visible change in Cleanliness standards of railway stations

The o­ngoing Swachhata Pakhwada, a special cleanliness drive, is being conducted across the Indian Railways with great enthusiasm and dedication from various segments of society. As part of this campaign, there is a specific initiative known as Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS), which is celebrated annually from September 15th to October 2nd.

This year,  this significant cleanliness campaign, "Swachhata Hi Seva," will take place o­n October 1st (Sunday) 2023,  on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.  ). The theme for this year's campaign is "Garbage Free India," with a particular focus o­n visual cleanliness and the well-being of SafaiMitras (sanitation workers).

The primary objective of this campaign is to raise widespread awareness about cleanliness and encourage people to actively participate in shramdaan activities (voluntary labor for cleanliness initiatives.

Southern Railway extends an invitation to rail users and general public to join us in the Swachhata Hi Seva cleaning campaign at the station nearest to their place of living. 

This presents a valuable opportunity for you to contribute to your community and contribute to making India cleaner and more beautiful. The drive will be organized in almost all major stations of Chennai, Salem, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad and Thiruvananthapuram Divisions.

Shri Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway will participate in the Swachhata Hi Seva events to be organized at Dr MGR Chennai Central o­n 1st October 2023.  Principal Heads of Departments, Officers and Staff of Southern Railway will actively participate in the drive organized at various locations which will also see the enthusiastic participation of students, Scouts & Guides, NGOs, Volunteers, rail passengers and general public.

Here are some ways you can participate in the campaign:

·Engage in shramdaan activities: Numerous shramdaan activities will be organized at nearby Railway stations. You can discover these activities by reaching by visiting the Swachhata Hi Seva website.

·Clean up your neighbourhood: You have the option to organize a clean-up event or simply pick up litter whenever you encounter it.

·Educate others about cleanliness: Engage in conversations with your friends, family, and neighbours to emphasize the significance of maintaining clean communities. You can also use social media to share information about the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.

Southern Railway appeals to rail users and general public to volunteer for participation in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at railway stations, make a substantial impact in enhancing the cleanliness standards for a cleaner and beautiful Nation.
