Rajbhasha Utsav was held under the chairmanship of Shri Gautam Dutta, Additional General Manager & Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer and Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari of Southern Railway on 16.02.2023 (Thursday) at 15.30 in the 'Sulay' auditorium of the Headquarters building.
The program started with lighting the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Soon after this a grand cultural program was organized. In this Mrs. Suguna and Mrs. Lata presented a short skit which was enjoyed by all the employees. After this, film songs were presented by the winners of the singing competition organized on the occasion of Rajbhasha Utsav, which was very captivating.
After the cultural program, Rajbhasha Adhikari/Headquarters office, Dr. A. Srinivasan welcomed everyone and gave a brief description of the journey of Official Language Hindi so far. After this, he submitted a report on various competitions such as Essay, Elocution, Noting & Drafting, typing on computer, singing, quiz on the topic 'Seventy-five years of independence', memory power, book review and word-power competitions and Picture based competition organised for the officers of HQ during the Rajbhasha Utsav and other programs conducted during the year.
In his presidential speech, Shri Gautam Dutta, Additional General Manager and Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of Southern Railway congratulated all the participants of the competitions and told that they are lovers and followers of official language Hindi and are role models in their respective departments. He further said that it is easy to work in Hindi and the Department of Official Language is motivating and encouraging everyone for this. Congratulating the departments that received the shield, he said that it is a collective effort and this will inspire other departments as well.
In the program organized after this, the Chairman and Additional General Manager released the Help Literature on the topic 'How to work in Hindi in e-office'. in the prize distribution ceremony Inter-departmental Rolling Shields were given to the three departments, ie Mechanical, Operations and Stores Departments maximum usage of Hindi in their official work. Shri P. Suresh, Chief Workshop Engineer & Chief Mechanical Engineer/Planning, Ms. Neenu Itiyera, Principal Chief Operations Manager and Shri Prakash Chandra Tamta, Principal Chief Material Manager from these departments received the shield from the Chairman.
Certificates were awarded to the winners and other participating officers of the drawing based competition organized for the officers. Apart from them, certificates were also given to the winners and other participants of other competitions organized in connection with the Rajbhasha Utsav.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks and National Anthem.
