Shri G.M. Eswara Rao, has taken charge as Inspector General (IG) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner of Southern Railway on Monday 11th April 2022 vice Shri Birendra Kumar, posted as Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.
An officer of the 1990 batch of Civil Services, Shri Eswara Rao has a B.E. (Civil) Degree. He has worked in various Railways in different capacities and has previously worked as Dy. Chief Security Commissioner and Sr Divisional Security Commissioner in Southern Railway from 2003 to 2009. He has been awarded with Indian Police Medal, DG's Insignia and numerous awards in his career serving different roles.
