Shri B.G.Mallya, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway has assumed the Administrative and Financial powers of the General Manager, Southern Railway as delegated by Railway Board, w.e.f 01-04-2022.
An Officer of 1985 batch of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Shri B.G.Mallya joined Railways after graduation in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Delhi.
In three and half decades of Railway service, he has held several important posts in various zones including Southern Railway, South East Central Railway, South Central Railway, Eastern Railway, South Western Railway, Integral Coach Factory and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
Shri B.G.Mallya also served as Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal and Bilaspur Divisions . He has worked as Chief Electrical Loco Engineer/South Central Railway and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of South Western Railway.
He brings with him the rich experience of having visited Railway systems abroad in various countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, France, South Korea, China, Iran, Switzerland and Bangladesh.
Shri B.G.Mallya is an avid reader, fond of sketching, dramatics, music and movies.
