The Vigilance Organisation of Southern Railway plays a crucial role in routing out unethical practices from the system. Based on a complaint received from two victims regarding job racketing, a Joint Operation was organized by Southern Railway Vigilance and Police team deputed by Deputy Commissioner/St. Thomas Mount on 24/11/2021. Allegedly, the job racketeers had extorted money from the complainants promising them a job in Railways. They had even reassured the victims of job scam by giving them fake appointment Order. The two job racketeers were nabbed after tracking their locations at Vadapalani. The entire operation was completed within 5 hours of receipt of complaint after meticulous planning and coordination between the two departments. The accused were handed over to ICF Police Station and a case has been registered for further investigation.
Vigilance Organization, Southern Railway has clarified that all recruitments in Railways are done in a transparent manner through exams conducted by Railway Recruitment Board and Railway Recruitment Cell.
Southern Railway appeals to general public to be wary of such job racketeers and report to State Police and/or Vigilance Organisation, Southern Railway, Construction Office Complex, Egmore, Chennai (Contact No.9003160022) if they come across such fraudsters.
