Ministry of Home Affairs introduced ‘Utkrishta Seva Medal’ and ‘Athi Utkrishta Seva Medal’ during the year 2019 for Police/Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Personnel appreciating their excellent performance to the Nation during their service period.
97 RPF personnel of Indian Railways have bagged Athi Utkrishta Seva Padak of which one RPF personnel is from Southern Railway. Shri M Rajendran, Head Constable of RPF/Southern Railway has been awarded Athi Utkrishta Seva Padak for the inaugural year 2019.
Sri.M.Rajendran, Head Constable
Sri.M.Rajendran, Head Constable was appointed in the Force as Constable in the year 1996 and he has put in 32 years of service. Due to his hard work and dedication towards his duties, he rose up to the rank of Head Constable during the year 2013. He is instrumental in assisting the post in-charge in registration/prosecution of RP (UP) Act and Railway Act cases as well as daily updation of all the records maintained at the post in an exemplary manner.
Besides, Six RPF personnel of Southern Railway have been awarded Home Minister’s special operation medal ‘Utkrishta Seva Padak’. They are among the 146 RPF personnel of Indian Railways to have bagged the prestigious medal for the inaugural year 2019.
The following six RPF personnel of Southern Railway have been awarded Utkrishta Seva Medal
1.Shri K.Prabhu, Inspector/RPF/SR
Shri.K.Prabhu, Inspector has been an outstanding officer in all spheres of working in RPF wing such as crime analysis and control, collection of Intelligence, computerization and Cyber Crime. His honest, sincere and meritorious service during his deputation in CBI/ACB, Chennai fetched him the prestigious Utkrisht Sewa Medal.
2. Shri. Saji Augustin, Asst.Sub-Inspector/CIB/RPF/Palakkad
Shri Saji Augustin, Asst.Sub-Inspector/CIB/RPF/Palakkad is instrumental for the seizure of tons of cannabis, synthetic drugs and other contraband items which were illegally trafficked through the railway system and apprehend many criminals involved in illegal business. He recovered over Rs. 50 crores in value, apart from unaccounted money (hawala) to the tune of more than 100 crores. His services are being utilized by other agencies namely, Police, Central Excise, Customs, GST departments as well. His yeoman service also includes the rescue of more than 600 missing/runaway children from railway stations/trains.
3.Smt.M.D.Nirmala, Women RPF Constable
Smt. M.D.Nirmala, RPF Constable presently working at Chennai Beach has rendered 19 years of service. Her excellent performance in conducting checks/raids aimed at the prevention of crime against women passengers, unauthorized vending and damage to Railway property is praiseworthy.
4. Shri.T.Arumugapandian, Head Constable
Shri. T. Arumugapandian is presently working as Head Constable at Sengottai. His integrity and dedication in detection/disposal of many RP (UP) and RA pending trial cases in the Hon’ble court falling in the jurisdiction of RPF Post Sengottai deserve special mention. As a good sportsman, he has participated in several tournaments and brought laurels to RPF wing and Railways.
5. Shri.V.Balasubramanian, Head Constable
Shri. V. Balasubramanian, is working as Head Constable at Tiruchendur Out Post for the past 5 years. The renders assistance in registration/Prosecution of RP (UP) Act & Railway act cases as well as daily updation of all the records maintained in the OutPost. His dedication in ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the RPF outpost is commendable.
6. Shri.N.Visakaran, Head Constable
Shri.N.Visakaran, appointed in the force as a constable in the year 1998, is presently working as Head Constable at Tirunelveli RPF. His matchless efforts in conducting Checks/Raids in preventing crime against passengers as well as Railway property yielded good results. He performs duties with dedication and his passenger-friendly approach earned accolades
Director-General/RPF congratulated the awardees on being conferred with the prestigious medals from Home Ministry in recognition of their meritorious service. Shri John Thomas, General Manager Southern Railway and Shri Birendra Kumar, Principal Chief Security Commissioner also congratulated the awardees on bringing laurels to Southern Railway.
