Shri. Ganesh, IRSEE, assumed charge as the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) on 01.08.2025. Prior to taking over as PCEE, Shri Ganesh served as the Principal Chief Safety Officer of Southern Railway.
An officer belonging to Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) – 1991 batch, Shri. Ganesh has vast experience in different facets of Railway working. He has served as Chief Electrical Loco Engineer at Eastern Railway, North Central Railway and Chittaranjan Locomotive works and Divisional Railway Manager of Chennai Division of Southern Railway.
Shri. Ganesh has the distinction of having held the post of Director at Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow, for seven years. During the period, he made has made commendable contribution in the following areas of Electric locomotives:
·Re-engineering of Stators of Traction Motors used in WAP-7/WAG-9 locomotives
·Development of reliable designs of Rotors in Traction Motors used in WAP-7/WAG-9 locomotives
·Selection of suspension arrangements in Traction Motors in locomotives
Shri Ganesh succeeds Shri Somesh Kumar, who recently got promoted and posted as the Additional Member (Traction), Railway Board.
