176th Zonal Official Language Implementation Committee Meeting Held


The 176th meeting of the Zonal Official Language Implementation Committee (ZOLIC) was held today, 12th June 2025, at Southern Railway Headquarters. Shri Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, chaired the meeting. Smt. Malabika G. Mohan, Principal Financial Advisor & Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari (MRA), Shri Hari Krishnan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Dr C.M. Ravi, Principal Chief Medical Director, Southern Railway, and Shri T.V. Mathusuthanan, Dy. MRA & Deputy Chief Accounts Officer and other Senior officials of Southern Railway participated in the meeting.

Smt. Malabika G. Mohan, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari, welcomed the gathering and emphasized that the Ministry of Home Affairs has enhanced the targets under the Annual Programme for Official Language Implementation. She urged all departments to intensify efforts to meet these revised objectives. She also congratulated Shri P. Sivalingam, ADRM & Additional Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari of Salem Division, o­n being awarded the Rail Mantri Rajbhasha Rajat Padak for his exemplary work in the field of Official Language Implementation, stating that such recognition would inspire others to strive towards greater achievements.

In his keynote address, Chairman Shri Kaushal Kishore remarked that India is a country rich in linguistic diversity, and the Government is committed to promoting its languages. He emphasized that as Railway personnel, it is our responsibility to integrate the Official Language in our day-to-day functioning, thereby aligning linguistic efforts with broader institutional goals. He added that a balanced approach must be maintained between Official Language progress and other organizational achievements.

Shri Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager later released a Help Literature o­n Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), prepared in the Official Language in coordination with the Medical Department of Southern Railway.  The trilingual booklet published in Tamil, Hindi and English will immensely benefit the patients visiting Railway Hospitals for treatment.

Senior Official Language Officer Ms. Binita Soy presented the special report o­n the achievements of the Department and highlighted the annual activities.
