Conversion of Conventional Rake into LHB Coaches

Southern Railway has notified  the conversion of the rakes of Train No. 12678/12677 Ernakulam – KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Superfast Express from conventional ICF coaches to modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches aiming to provide enhanced safety, comfort, and better riding experience for passengers.

Train Details:

·Train No. 12678 Ernakulam – KSR Bengaluru Intercity Superfast Express will run with LHB coaches with effect from 20th June 2025 (Ex. Ernakulam).

·Train No. 12677 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Intercity Superfast Express will run with LHB coaches with effect from 21st June 2025 (Ex. KSR Bengaluru).

Revised Coach Composition:

2- AC Chair Car coaches , 11- Second Class Chair Car coaches, 1 Pantry Car,   4 General Second Class Coaches,   1 Second Class Coaches (Divyangjan Friendly),& 1Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van,

South Western Railway has notified the suspension of Pit Line-3 and Stabling Line-5 at Bengaluru yard for a period of 153 days from 15th August 2025 to 15th January 2026 in order to facilitate various engineering works.  As a result, the following train services will be diverted, terminated, or originate from alternate stations as detailed below:

Change in the pattern of Train Services

Fixed Time Corridor Block has been approved for facilitating engineering works over various sections in Madurai Division. Consequently the following are the changes in the pattern of train services:

Diversion of Train Services:

1.Train No. 16848 Sengottai – Mayiladuthurai Express scheduled to leave Sengottai at 06.55 hrs o­n  06th , 07th, 09th, 10th,11thJune 2025 is diverted to run via Virudunagar,Manamadurai,Karaikkudi and Tiruchchirappalli  skipping stoppages at Kalligudi, Tirumangalam, Tiruparankundram, Madurai, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, Vadamadura, Vaiyampatti and Manaparai. Additional stoppages will be provided at Aruppukkottai, Manamadurai, Sivaganga and Karaikkudi for the convenience of passengers.

2. Train No. 07229 Kanniyakumari – Charlapalli Special scheduled to leave Kanniyakumari at 05.15 hrs o­n 06th,13thJune, 2025 is diverted to run via Virudunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi and Tiruchchirappalli skipping stoppages at Madurai, Kodaikanal Road and Dindigul.  Additional stoppages will be provided at Manamadurai and Karaikkudi for the convenience of passengers

3. Train No. 12666 Kanniyakumari – Howrah Superfast Express scheduled to leave Kanniyakumari at 05.50 hrs o­n 07th June, 2025 will be diverted to run via Virudunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi and Tiruchchirappalli skipping stoppages at Madurai and Dindigul. Additional stoppages will be provided at Manamadurai ,Karaikkudi and Pudukottai for the convenience of passenger

4.Train No. 16847 Mayiladuthurai – Sengottai Express leaving Mayiladuthurai Express at 12.10 hrs o­n 08th,&11th June 2025 will  be diverted to run via Tiruchchirappalli, Karaikkudi, Manamadurai and Virudunagar skipping stoppages at Manaparai, Vaiyampatti, Vadamadura, Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, Madurai, Tirupparankundram, Tirumangalam and Kalligudi. Additional stoppages will be provided at Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi, Sivagangai, Manamadurai and Aruppukkottai for the convenience of passengers

5.Train No. 16788  Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra  - Tirunelveli Express leaving Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 22.30 hrs o­n 05th, &12th, June 2025 will  be diverted to run via Tiruchchirappalli, Karaikkudi, Manamadurai and Virudunagar skipping stoppages at Dindigul, Kodaikanal Road, and Madurai, Additional stoppages will be provided at Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi, and  Manamadurai and for the convenience of passengers.

Partial Cancellation of Train Services:

1. Train No. 16322 Coimbatore – Nagercoil Express leaving Coimbatore at 08.00 hrs o­n 06th, to 14th, June 2025 will be partially cancelled between Dindigul and Nagercoil.  

Rescheduling of Train Service:

1.  Train No. 07192 Madurai – Kachedguda Special scheduled to leave Madurai at 10.40 hrs o­n 04th &11th,June, 2025 is rescheduled to leave Madurai at 12.00 hrs (Late by 1 hour 20 mins)
