Shri S.K. Mittal has taken over as the commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore. He will look after Railway safety of Southern Railway, Southern Western Railway and Bangalore Metro Railway.
He was born at Ambala and graduated from Punjab University in Civil Engineering. He belongs to the 1980 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE).
He has held various posts in Railways as Additional Divisional Railway Manager/ South Eastern Railway, Chief Engineer,Track Modernization/Track Procurement and Chief Engineer/Construction of South Central Railway, Secunderabad.
Prior to his appointment as Safety Commissioner, he was Chief Track Engineer/North Western Railway, Jaipur.
