General Manager Shri. R.K Kulshrestha inaugurated Railway Protection Force Barrack at Chennai in the presence of Shri Birendra Kumar, Inspector General cum Principle Security Commissioner, Divisional Railway Manager Chennai, Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner/Chennai and other Principle Heads of the Departments.
Hon’ble Ministers of Railways Shri. Piyush Goyal has been closely monitoring the improvements in the maintenance and facilities of RPF barracks on par with running rooms provided to loco pilot and Guards in Railways. Based on the guide lines of Shri. Dharmendra Kumar, IPS, Director General, New Delhi, this barrack has been provided at My Lady’s Garden near Chennai Central Railway Station.
The New Barrack having two floors and each floor consists of 11 rooms. Each room is having facilities to accommodate 04 Jawans, i.e., 4 beds and wardrobes, etc. for each shift. This Barracks is also having kitchen and dining hall at the Ground floor and having Air-conditioned recreation room and Gym in the first floor. Besides, all necessary amenities, like beds, mattresses, pillows, water purifier, 60' inch colour TV. etc. are also provided in the new Barracks. Imprest Smart Card for Rs.25,000 has also been arranged for the maintenance of this Barracks. The Barrack provided at a cost of Rs. 3.47 Crore will provide comfortable rest facilities for RPF staff.
INSPECTION OF ENGINEERING WORKSHOP AT ARAKKONAM BY GM/S.RLY
Earlier, Shri. R.K. Kulshrestha, General Manager, inspected the production activities at Engineering Workshop / Arakkonam along with Principle Heads of the Departments and Divisional Railway Manager/ Chennai, covering the Structural Shop, Glued Joints Shop, Blacksmith Shop and Flash Butt Welding Plant.
The General Manager has inaugurated the new CNC (Computerised Numerical Controlled) Milling Machine and commissioned LED Lighting Arrangements at the Engineering Workshop / Arakkonam.
General Manager has announced Rs.95000/- towards cash award to employees of Workshop for various outstanding contributions.
